I am a huge Christina Hendricks fan in so, so many ways. I’m a Mad Men devotee, of course, and Hendricks’ Joan is the emotional center of the show, not to mention the female character with the best one-liners. Hendricks herself is also an inspiration – she’s pale, extremely curvy and so unlike most of the famous actresses working today. As another pale, curvy girl working in an industry that often doesn’t celebrate those attributes, I feel a certain sense of sisterhood with Ms. Hendricks.
We have to talk about these pink pants, though. They’re just…not great on her. They weren’t last time we caught her wearing them, and they’re still not quite working for me. Finding things that work perfectly on such a curvy body can be a real challenge, particularly on the high-end market, but I’d so much prefer her to see Christina in a cigarette pant than a pair of unstructured wide-leg trousers. I’m all for wearing whatever you want, no matter your body type, but it’s one of the few looks that I think truly only works on the Karlie Kloss types among us; not just thin girls, but girls who are also well above average height. The Salvatore Ferragamo Shoulder Bag, however, can stay.
